Info Lofoten

About the project

Behind the project with InfoLofoten is Steinbiten Drift AS. The project started with a few companies in the summer of 2022 and marketed and sold activities and overnight stays via our pages and shops with InfoLofoten.

In the time ahead, Steinbiten Drift AS will work actively both digitally and physically via the tourist information centers to get small and large businesses in West Lofoten and Lofoten in general to join us.

The initiative applies to operators throughout Lofoten, with direct booking in 3 different tourist information centers:

Vestvågøy - Leknes, Vestvågøy Tourist Information
Flakstad - The Lofoten Store, Ramberg
Moskenes - Reine Cultural Center

About Lofoten

Lofoten is an archipelago in Norway. Its known for its dramatic scenery, with peaks like the Svolværgeita pinnacle jutting up into the sky.

The Lofoten archipelago consists of many islands, such as Austvågøy, Moskenesøya and Værøy. Despite its location above the Arctic Circle - at the same latitude as Greenland - Lofoten has a noticeably warmer climate, thanks to the circulation of the Gulf Stream. Nevertheless, it is considered an area with a subarctic climate.

The ambition and goal of this project is to highlight the business community in the region, digitalize and enable more operators' products to be directly bookable and more easily accessible to customers, even the small businesses that there are so many of in Lofoten.

Offering an opportunity to compare and directly book their experience during the inspirational visit (in-store or online) has shown that sales increase significantly. This leads to the goal of the initiative (more visitors staying longer, spending more money and experiencing more of the destination).

The consumer likes to compare and see what the total range of, for example, an activity is before making a choice. With our platform this can be done directly, including parameters such as availability on the chosen date and price. We want the platform to be a pure booking site, so that it generates sales more easily. Your project should not get lost in the crowd of inspiration and information. But rather be informative and concrete; what the guest gets, where, when and at what price.
